NFRW President Comments on President Trump’s Capture of the Maduro’s

The National Federation of Republican Women commends President Donald J. Trump, the White House, and the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces for the successful operation that captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and removed them from Venezuelan territory to face American justice on narco-terrorism and related charges. This decisive, carefully planned action—conducted in coordination with U.S. law enforcement and elite special operations forces—sends an unmistakable message that the United States will no longer tolerate a criminal regime that weaponized cocaine and other deadly narcotics against American families and our allies.

For years, Maduro has operated a criminal enterprise that included the transit of hundreds of tons of cocaine and other illicit drugs, and was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans. This operation, along with the strikes on the supply artery of the cartels’ trafficking pipeline, will help prevent countless future poisonings, overdoses, and cartel murders—ultimately saving tens of thousands of lives across the Americas and the world. When foreign heads of state operate criminal enterprises and face US indictments, there is no immunity and there is legal justification for their arrest. Operation Absolute Resolve has precedent and is comparable to the December 1989 action to bring Panama's Manuel Noriega to justice. Maduro will now face the American justice system like Noriega before him.

The NFRW stands in full, unwavering alignment with the The White House, in affirming that Maduro will now face the full wrath of the American justice system for narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, and related conspiracy charges, as Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Trump have made clear. The National Federation of Republican Women also recognizes that Hugo Chavez stole American property when he nationalized the Venezuelan oil industry, which continued under Maduro. Donald J. Trump is the only U.S. President that has taken action to reclaim stolen American property. Republican women across this nation are proud that under President Trump’s leadership, the United States has taken bold, lawful, and strategic action to defend our communities from foreign-directed drug crime, protect our borders, and support the Venezuelan people’s aspirations for a free, democratic, and sovereign nation free from cartel rule.
